The Experience

This itinerary uses the resort as a true home base rather than a place to sleep between excursions. Big adventure days are intentionally separated by easier beach and pool days, creating a rhythm that works especially well for families and mixed-energy groups.

Signature Experiences

Catalina Island

A full-day Caribbean outing built around boating, snorkeling, island time and a cultural stop at Altos de Chavón.

Scuba Diving

Dedicated dive time for certified divers or travelers arranging an introductory experience through a qualified operator.

Surf Session

A lesson-focused beach experience for travelers who want to add a new skill and a more active morning to the trip.

Resort Days

Unhurried pool, beach and all-inclusive time placed strategically between excursions.

Snorkel + Scuba Day

A flexible water day that lets different travelers choose the experience that fits their comfort level.

Leisure Finale

A deliberately open final full day for spa time, beach time, a favorite repeat activity or simply doing nothing.

Day by Day

Day 1 : Arrive + Settle In

A soft landing into island time.

Arrival

Fly into the Dominican Republic and meet your prearranged resort transfer. Check-In: Settle into your Dreams resort, unpack and get oriented before committing to any activities.

Evening

Keep the first dinner easy and on property. Good food, an early Caribbean sunset and a relaxed start.
Day 2 : Resort & Beach Day
No agenda is the luxury.

Morning

Breakfast at the resort, followed by an unhurried morning at the pool or beach. Afternoon: Stay flexible. Swim, read, use the resort amenities or add a spa treatment if desired.
Insider Note : Placing a true resort day immediately after travel lets everyone reset before the longest excursion of the itinerary.

Day 3 : Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón

The signature full-day adventure.

Early Morning

Plan an early departure around 7:00 a.m.

Catalina Island

Boat to Catalina Island for snorkeling and Caribbean beach time. Known for coral reefs and clear-water sites off La Romana.

Lunch

Enjoy lunch as part of the island excursion or tour package.

Culture Stop

Add Altos de Chavón — the Mediterranean-style village above the Chavón River — for cobblestone streets, galleries and a change of pace from the water.

Return

Plan to be back at the resort around 5:00 p.m. Keep dinner on property and low-key.
Insider Note : The Catalina Island excursion is the itinerary’s longest and most logistically involved day — book early and confirm pickup time the night before.
Day 4 : Scuba Day
Go below the surface.

Morning

Breakfast, then meet your dive operator for the day’s scuba plan.

Dive Time

Build the morning around the selected dive site and traveler certification level. Non-divers can keep this as a resort morning.

Afternoon

Return for lunch and an easy pool or beach afternoon.

Evening

Dinner at the resort — choose a favorite restaurant or a more elevated venue if available.
Insider Note : If not everyone in the group dives, don’t force it. This day works better when non-divers genuinely enjoy a resort morning rather than waiting around.
Day 5 : Surf Lesson & Resort Time
Active morning, easy afternoon.

Morning

Breakfast and head to the scheduled surf lesson.

Surf

A lesson is ideal for beginners and active families. If staying in the Punta Cana/Macao area, Playa Macao is a recognized surf beach. From La Romana, confirm transfer time before booking.

Afternoon

Return to the resort for lunch, pool and beach time.

Evening

Keep the night flexible for resort entertainment or an early dinner.
Insider Note : Don’t stack another excursion after the surf lesson. The afternoon is recovery time — and it earns its place.
Day 6 : Snorkel or Scuba Choice Day
Split up without sacrificing the shared vacation.

Morning

After breakfast, let each traveler choose: snorkeling for an easier outing or another scuba session for certified divers.

Midday

Regroup for lunch.

Afternoon

Leave the rest of the day unscheduled — especially useful after several active water days.
Insider Note : This format works well for mixed groups because nobody has to participate in the most technical activity to enjoy the day.
Day 7 : Leisure Day
Protect one completely open day.

Morning

Sleep in, linger over breakfast and return to the beach or pool.

Afternoon

Use this as your spa day, a repeat-favorite day, or the best slot for an optional excursion.

Evening

Make the final dinner feel special. Choose the resort’s best setting and keep the night free of logistics.
Insider Note : Resist the urge to fill this day. The open structure is the point — it’s what separates a vacation from a schedule.

Day 8 : Final Morning & Departure

One last slow morning.

Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast and a final walk along the beach.

Late Morning

Use the pool or beach if flight timing allows, then shower and finish packing.

Departure

Planned for a midday airport transfer for an afternoon flight. Reconfirm based on actual airport, resort and airline schedule.
Insider Note : Protect this morning from last-minute excursions. A relaxed departure day is one of the reasons the overall itinerary feels like a vacation rather than a checklist.
